Dr. Emerson is the faculty sponsor of the OSU ASCE student chapter Timber Bridge Team, which placed second in this year's ASCE-FPS National Timber Bridge Design Competition.

• M.S. in Civil Engineering - Washington State University
• Ph.D. in Civil Engineering - at Washington State University

Dr. Emerson’s primary professional interests revolve around timber and concrete engineered structures, including research and development of engineered structural products and systems. Other professional interests include nondestructive evaluation of structural materials and structural engineering concepts in durable and affordable housing. Dr. Emerson’s industry experience led him to being listed on a patent for a new metal plate connector for wood trusses.
