John N. Veenstra is Professor and Head of the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering, and coordinator of the graduate program in Environmental Engineering at Oklahoma State University.
Dr. Veenstra is a Registered Professional Engineer in Oklahoma, a Registered Sanitary and Civil Engineer in Iowa and is a Board Certified Environmental Engineer. He is active on the Civil and Environmental Committees of the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying, serving as the Chairman of the PE Civil Engineering Exam Committee. In addition, he holds memberships in Water Environment Federation, American Water Works Association, American Society of Civil Engineers, American Academy of Environmental Engineering and Science Professors. He serves on various committees within these organizations. He is an Associate Editor of the ASCE's Practice Periodical of Hazardous, Toxic and Radioactive Waste Management. Dr. Veenstra serves as a regular peer reviewer for the Research Journal of the Water Environment Federation, the Journal of the American Water Works Association, and American Chemical Society's Environmental Science and Technology as well as several other journals. He has graduated over 100 M.S. and Ph.D. students while at OSU. In spring 2007, he graduated his 100th master's student.
