Dr. Wilber is an Associate Professor in CIVE and is part of the Environmental group. He is a member of ASCE and serves as the faculty advisor for OSU’s ASCE student chapter, which has received honorable mention awards from ASCE for the past two years. Dr. Wilber has twice received the ASCE Teacher award from the student chapter. He was inducted into Chi Epsilon in 1994 and was awarded the 1999-2000 Chi Epsilon Excellence in Teaching Award for the Central District.
Dr. Wilber’s research interests lie in the area of biological processes. Recent projects have included investigations of the fate of nitroaromatic compounds (such as TNT and RDX) in soils and in engineered treatment systems, an investigation of the biological treatment of an industrial waste stream containing waste ink and surfactants, and a project examining the effects of various environmental factors on the biotransformation of chlorinated aliphatic compounds in landfills.
