New School Head Announced
Dr. John N. Veenstra has been appointed to the position of Head for the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering. Dr. Veenstra has been serving as Interim of the Department since July 2006.

Dr. Wilber received Halliburton's 2007 Outstanding Faculty Award at the Annual Faculty and Staff Recognition Luncheon for the College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology held on December 12th in the ConocoPhillips Alumni Center's Click Hall.

CIVE Grad Student Wins 2nd Award
The Graduate & Professional Government Association (GPSGA), the Vice-President of Research & Technology Transfer, and the Graduate College have announced the winners for the 19th Annual OSU Research Symposium presentations. Syadaruddin (Iday) Syachrani, Ph.D. student in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering has won 1st place in the Paper Presentation for Graduate Students in Physical Sciences and Technology forthe second year. The Research Symposium Award Ceremony will be held on April 16, 2008 at 4:00 p.m. in the Noble Research Center Atrium.


CIVE Student takes 4th in NCAA Wrestling Nationals
Nathan Morgan, senior in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering and -American finished fourth in the 141-pound class at the NCAA National in St. Louis. Visit the OSU Athletics Wrestling website for more details.


Civil Engineering Student Receives Honors College Hood
Gregory R. Ripperger, Civil Engineering student, was one of sixty-nine students who received Honors College hoods during a recent ceremony of the Oklahoma State University Honors College. The honors degree is the highest honor conferred with the undergraduate degree at OSU and is earned by completing both the General Honors Award and the Department or College Honors Award, with a minimum grade point average of 3.5.
