Hall of Fame and Lohmann Medal 

CIVE alumni receive high honors
Two CIVE alumni have been awarded the Melvin R. Lohmann Medal for professional contributions in the fields of civil and environmental engineering. The medal is named after Melvin R. Lohmann, former Dean of CEAT (1955-77) who led the college to national prominence.

First Ph.D. in Civil Engineering

The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering recognized Dr. Kerry Havner as the first student to receive a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering during the CEAT Associates Meeting on October 14th. Dr. Havner received his degree from Oklahoma State University on August 9, 1959 and is now Professor Emeritus in Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering at North Carolina State University.
