OSU's Tyler Ley named Most Influential in Concrete Industry

HIBAR Research Initiative - Professor's Tyler Ley and Mark Krzmarzick

Dear OSU Colleagues,

 

The idea competition phase of our HIBAR research initiative is now complete. We had wonderful participation in the idea competition, with more than 20 prospectuses submitted by faculty teams from across OSU and OSU-CHS. Four themes have been selected for the full application phase. These four themes, and the faculty researchers leading each effort, are described below.

Congratulations Rabecca Wiseman!

CIVE would like to congratulate Rabecca Wiseman who competed in the OSU CEAT 3MT and won 2nd place with her topic, "How Aeration Basin Optimization is Your City's Salvation".

 

OSU team receives $50,000 grant to further research benefitting municipalities

Yongwei Shan, assistant professor in the school of civil and environmental engineering at Oklahoma State University, along with graduate assistant Hossein Khaleghian have been awarded a $50,000 National Science Foundation I-Corps grant with the assistance of their industry mentor Jim Harris with Jacobs Engineering Group. 

Congratulations To The 2018-19 AISC Scholarship Winners!

Congratulations Bret Robinson!

Bret Robertson, CIVE PhD candidate, is being named an Emerging Leader by the American Concrete Institute. 

Bret is also a two time ACI Fellowship winner and also received the ACI Young Member Award.  Bret is one of eight ACI members that were given this honor.  He will attend an upcoming leadership conference and will be paraded around the ACI convention in a mini concrete truck as we all cheer!

ASCE Concrete Canoe Newsletter

ASCE has had a busy spring semester. From traveling to OKC for state meeting to Mid-continent Student Conference. This semester the Oklahoma State University ASCE Chapter has had speakers from Black and Veatch, Infrastructure Engineers, Figg Bridge, Terra Tech, and Jacobs.

At the 2018 MCSC we had a steel bridge and concrete canoe team compete. Captains this year were Dillon Cochran (Steel Bridge), Jay Smith (Concrete Canoe), and Sarah Bowlin (Concrete Canoe).
